Description:
A Cylinder Head Gasket is a gasket that covers the gap between two or more mating surfaces and is often used to prevent leakage from or into the connected components when under compression. Gaskets are normally made from a flat material, a sheet such as paper, rubber, silicone, metal, cork, felt, neoprene, nitrile rubber, fiberglass, polytetrafluoroethylene (otherwise known as PTFE or Teflon) or a plastic polymer (such as polychlorotrifluoroethylene).
Attributes:
• Hardened to Rockwell B scale hardness of 65 to 75.
• Designed to withstand high temperatures and pressures, allowing them to maintain their sealing ability.
• Manufactured from steel which provides high strength and wear resistance.
Applications:
A Cylinder Head Gasket is used to provide a tight seal between the Cylinder Head and Cylinder Block, sealing the combustion chamber, also used on applications where anti-vibration, packaging, noise, and sound reduction are required. Predominantly used in Cat C175-16, C175-20 Generator Set, C175-16, C175-20 Locomotive Engine, C175-16 Industrial Engine, C175-16 Marine Engine, 797F, 793F, 797B, 797, 793F CMD, 795F AC, 794 AC, 795F XQ, 785D, 793D Truck, 796 AC, 798 AC, 793F, 794 AC, 798, 793 Off-Highway Truck, C175-16 Petroleum Engine.
